GCA Art in the Park began in 2013 to bring regional art and artist to Grayson County inspiring others to create while supporting the non- profit efforts of the Grayson County Alliance Food Pantry. Art in the Park is a key fundraiser for the 501(c)3 non-profit which serves lower income families. This juried show is proud to feature Grayson County native and internationally renowned artist, Larry Elmore.
The juried fine arts and contemporary crafts show has FREE parking and admission. It is hosted in the beautiful upper side of James D. Beville Park, Leitchfield. Plan to stay all day and even enjoy a tasty treat from our local food vendors while you shop a variety of styles and mediums of talented artisans. Novice and professional artists donate original artwork to exhibit and sell to support the GCA Food Pantry. The 2023 Theme, "Wildlife" accepts a donate 4"x6" or smaller, flat panel art piece of any medium. Exhibit opens at 9 AM and artwork goes on sale at 10AM. Each piece sells for $10 and 100% of the sales benefit the GCA Food Pantry. Entry forms are available in March.
At the Children's Pavilion, young budding artist can create to their hearts content for FREE under the direction of artist, Jackie Pierce. They will be inspired by the hands on fun and enjoy their make and take creations. The pavilion is sponsored by Grayson County Schools.
All day long, the park is filled with the wonderful sights and sounds of talented musicians and vocalists. Local and regional talents are on stage presenting a variety of styles and selections. Grayson County students have an opportunity to showcase their talents as well.
The Student Art Competition is open to high school students in public, private, and homeschool from Grayson County, High School students through a variety of mediums showcase their talents. Each entry must meet show categories and be screened by coordinators. Applications are posted each March.
